After all the hype around my paid pattern, The Cupcake Doll, I wanted to let the community know I will still offer free patterns, too. Also, with Valentine’s around the corner and wanting something festive to wear for the holiday, I whipped up a fun little Valentine’s Earwarmer pattern using a fun little stitch called the Heart Stitch. This pattern is quick to work up, too!

Difficulty:

Materials:
– ¼ ball of worsted weight yarn in main color (I used Lionbrand Vanna’s Choice in Light Grey)
– small amount of worsted weight yarn in 1-3 color. (I used Lionbrand Vanna’s Choice in Purple, Pink, Light Pink)
– Size H (5.0mm) Crochet Hook
– 1″ button
Size:
Toddler – fits 17-19″ head circumference
Child – fits 19-20″ head circumference
Adult/Teen – fits 21-23″ head circumference
Guage:
8 sts x 10 rows = 2″ x 2″

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in next 8 sts. Change to secondary color, sl in next st, sk 2 sts, *Shell Stitch [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in next st, sk 2 sts, sl st in next st* repeat 7 times. Change back to main color, sc in last 8 sts.
Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc in next 8 sts, Ldc over sl st, *ch 1, 3 sc in ch 1 from prev row, ch 1, Ldc over sl st* repeat 7 times, sc in last 8 sts.
