Web Browser Halloween Costume:
Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and IE 6

My coworkers and I work in a technology field and decided to do a group costume. We decided our group costume would be web browsers. I made use of all the fox stuff I had made, including making a furry fox tail the night before, to be the Firefox web browswer. I even stole, I mean borrowed a toy world from my boys. I also whipped up a beanie with the Chrome logo for my friend to be the Chrome web browser. Here is the pattern for the beanie.

Materials:

– 1 ball of worsted weight yarn in Blue
– 1 ball of worsted weight yarn in White
– 1 ball of worsted weight yarn in Yellow
– 1 ball of worsted weight yarn in Red
– 1 ball of worsted weight yarn in Green
– Size J (6.0mm) Crochet Hook
– Size H (5.0mm) Crochet Hook

Abbreviations:
ch = Chain
sp(s) = space(s)
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = Slip Stitch
sk = Skip
sc = Single Crochet
hdc = Half Double Crochet
dc = Double Crochet
fpdc = Front Post Double Crochet
bpdc = Back Post Double Crochet
RS = Right Side
WS = Wrong Side
FO = Finish Off

Special Stitches:

MC – Magic Circle: Wrap yarn around the index finger of your left hand as shown. Holding crochet hook in your right hand, insert hook under the two yarn loops and hook the yarn coming from the skein or ball, Pull loop through.

To Change Color in Dc: Yarn over and draw up a loop in the last st of the row, yarn over and draw through 2 lps, drop the color in use; with next color to be used, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. Continue with new color.

Beanie:
With J hook
Row 1: With Blue, MC, 9 hdc in circle, join to first hdc, ch 1 (9)
Row 2: 2 hdc in each st around, join to first hdc, ch 1 (18)
Row 3: *2 hdc, hdc* repeat around, join to first hdc, change to white, ch 1 (27)
Row 4: With white, *2 hdc, hdc 2* repeat around, join to first hdc, change to yellow, ch 1 (36)
Row 5: With yellow, *2 hdc, hdc 3* repeat 3 times, change to red, 2 hdc, hdc 3 repeat 3 times, change to green, 2 hdc, hdc 3 repeat 3 times (45)
Row 6: With green, 2 hdc, hdc 2, change to yellow, hdc 2, *2 hdc, hdc 4* repeat twice, 2 hdc, hdc 2, change to red, hdc 2, *2 hdc, hdc 4* repeat twice, 2 hdc, hdc 2, change to green, hdc 2, *2 hdc, hdc 4* repeat twice, join to first hdc, ch 1 (54)

Row 22: With red, *fpdc, bpdc* repeat 8 times, change to green, *fpdc, bpdc* repeat 10 times, change to yellow, *fpdc, bpdc* repeat 10 times, change to red, *fpdc, bpdc* repeat twice. FO.
