Hi and thank you for sharing your pattern. I found this yesterday and I HAD to make it! It was super easy to follow and I think mine turned out great. Maybe some repositioning, or resizing of lens, but still great. I’m including a photo of the finished BB8 beanie.

Mine turned out very small. My son has a large head so I made the adult size and there’s no way it would fit him! I’m not sure where I went wrong. Is there a way to increase the size?

I would go up a hook size. Make sure your guage matches the guage in the pattern. I actually crochet pretty tight myself, so I’m surprised that your hat would come out too small.

Could you clarify your gauge? It says: Gauge: 6 sts x 5 rows = 2″ x 2.″ Which stitch are you using?

My gauges are always measured by the stitch used in the pattern, in this case, it would just be hdc across a row. Thank you for asking!

Thank you! That’s what I assumed but I thought maybe you were going for SC as being the most basic stitch. Thanks for clarifying.

One more question – just to clarify, you aren’t double stranding, are you? Your picture looks so solid and nice, it’s hard for me to understand why there aren’t bigger gaps between stitches with an I hook with ww yarn.

Maybe it’s just because you used HDC instead of DC. Good move. Guess I’m being dumb. 🙂

Can I see a picture of the back of the hat? Cause when I switch colors they don’t line up

Thank you for sharing this pattern, I am going to try to make one for my 5 year old grand nephew for Christmas. He has been watching Star Wars with his Dad.
